I think often times when we first meet somebody or have that first impression, we see in them things that we see and are aware of or not aware of in ourselves. overreacting or pinpointing that person often disconnects us from learning more about ourselves. :) I think we always have a lot to learn from each other, and it's more fun to take the time to get to know others too. :)

Hola G.!
You said: "I almost feel like at times nothing is real, and I am just floating here in life, an observer, cause what I am feeling and understanding is so way beyond what I thought I could have ever imagined."

Yep, indeed, in a relative way, you are nothing then this "observer"...however, the real bliss lies in this:
WHO watches this observer?
There always must be another observer behind the observer you see...Who is this last observer...?

Shanti and enjoy yourSELF!
:-)

I wonder if this very thing is connected to the whole thing about if you should base your judgement of a person on a first impression. At first I thought I was biased to say "no", simply because I did not like the way I felt when someone judged me based on knowing me for only 2 minutes. It made me feel more like an object than a person or that I am the equilivant of a TV show that this person cast aside after 2 minutes because it didnt entertain *them*.

However I had underlying suspicion that I disliked first-impression judgment since I also did not like when it was another person who was sworn off from such a simple interaction. So overall even when it wasnt me on the "chopping block" I thought "boy this person is judging him/her from an initial knee jerk reaction. The last time I had a knee jerk reaction was on that thrill ride" I felt the car plummet me and the other riders towards the ground 22 stories beneath us. It was a scary feeling and I still can remember the feeling of 0 gravity for that brief second before gravity took hold.

I also remember myself 5 minutes later laughing with my friends and chewing cotton candy. It was a fun ride and I wanted to wait another hour in line to do it again.

Life is an adventure. Society makes it hard for alot of us to see that way but thats part of evolution. When life becomes an adventure rather than an obstacle course that we are being paced through, than we live more honestly. This includes resisting your initial kneejerk reaction and truly listening.
